As the dust and air are sucked up the heavier debris move to the outside and are deposited to the bottom of the canister. The fresh air then travels through the motor and is expelled out the exhaust. Cyclonic cleaners are great for normal vacuuming conditions but can have troubles in extremely dusty environments.

HEPA vacuums use a filter that can operate at 99.97% efficiency and remove the smallest particles from the air. These types of vacuum cleaners are used to maintain optimum indoor air quality where it is needed. HEPA cleaners come in many configurations including upright vacuums, back pack vacuums and wet dry vacuum models. HEPA cleaners are perfect for final construction cleanup where dust is an issue or clean rooms where constant clean air is necessary. HEPA vacuum cleaners are the ideal vacuum if you have allergy problems as they lower allergen levels up to 50%. One downside to HEPA vacuums is the price of the filters.
